Many dogs are entering shelters everyday waiting for a new life out there. In a kind act for those dogs, some shelters allows a program of a one day trip, it’s about taking a dog for one day out then bring it back to the shelter at the end of the day which maybe encourage some for adopting a dog, it’s also amazing for those people who can’t’ have a dog of their own but they really do love dogs, it’s also good for those people who have a busy life, and never find a time for raising a dog, maybe you don’t have a full time busy schedule that prevents adopting a dog, but you sure have an hour or a day available in your time to do such thing. For the dogs, it’s amazing for them to get more social, play around, do exercises, have fun, and after all, feel some love. When you went for the shelter to take a dog for a trip, they have some suggestions for places to take the dog, so it can help you not to think a lot.
That makes a lady try the idea and she told us what she been through. She wanted really hard to try it and it was the time for a new experience also it was time for a big adventure. She took a 2 and a half years old Pit-bull dog named Marla for the trip, from the shelter named Fairfax County Animal Shelter, she said that Marla acts very friendly, she was licking her face all the time, she was really happy, she is a very good dog. She took her for a hiking trip for about four miles. It was a very beautiful sunny day, full of walking and exercising, she also brought her own dog with her to join the trip. She was wishing that she could adopt her but sadly she have two cats and her own dog, she’s a kind of feeling guilty in the end of the trip.
After a while from this trip Marla was finally adopted, the most amazing thing about those trips that they give a chance for the dogs to find their forever homes, or at least socialize and have fun. So go out, try a trip by yourself.
