Dogs are bringing lots of happiness in our life, teach us so many morals, stand by us in the good and the bad, help us if we are in need, and save us. It’s a story of a dog that helps his owner through a PTSD. A husband, a dad, a solider; Erick Scott. He was serving in the military for 16 years, his tattoo is telling his story, a solider hamlet, a shooter in a solider boot, which is a soldier cross, and a dog paw print.
He returned from serving with PTSD, Post-traumatic stress disorder, is affecting soldiers. They are the most affected by this disorder because it develops after a person exposed to a traumatic event like war or imminent death, and it causes so many symptoms such as depression, anxiety and aggressive behavior. Eric had stopped his serving and that made him very depressed, his place was there, at the military.
And for those soldiers that are suffering from PTSD, a group called K9s for warriors which is a non-profit group which provides service dogs that help soldiers to get back to the normal life as possible, those dogs that the K9’s provides are well trained to notice any sign of depression or distress and respond in a way that helps the solider to comfort and calm down and cutting off the distress. You will see at 2:06 the reaction of the dog when Eric starts to talk about the PTSD disorder.
