It’s a story of survival; those puppies finally get their second chance at life. A pack of five week old puppies were rescued and their story is one to tell.
It all started when the Home for Life Animal Sanctuary received a call from someone who is asking the staff if they saw a dog that is tied to the gate of their shelter, the staff went out to investigate to see if there was a dog out there or not. Surprisingly they found a dog which was pregnant, scared, starving, you could see her hip bones, the staff immediately brought her up into the building of the Sanctuary.
There isn’t any information about that dog, for how long has she stayed out there tied to the gate, or who brought her and from where she came, but all they knew about her was that her situation wasn’t good enough as a pregnant dog, her temperature was very low. They gave the dog the medical treatment she needs, they also gave her a brand new name, and they named her Rory.
Late at night, Rory started to give birth, she gave birth to 10 puppies, the puppies’ situation wasn’t good, and they were very tiny, because of their mother’s malnourishment issues. The staff worked on feeding the dog to improve her health issues, they fed her about 4-5 times daily, also provided her with calcium. With the improvement of her feeding, she took good care of her puppies, they were fed well. If they didn’t try to solve the malnourishment that the mother was having, the story would turn to a very tragic one, and they wouldn’t survive then.
The puppies now are with their mother living in the Home for Life Animal Sanctuary; they will be ready for adoption in two weeks starting from 23 of January. If you are willing to adopt one, you can visit www.homeforlife.org for more details, or you can help by sharing this with your family and friends.
