It’s a special kind of rescue, it was a hard one, maybe this is what makes it special, and what’s great about it is that it was in the right time. The rescued dog is named Sonya, and she is called “the google maps dog”, and here is the rescuing story.
Jennifer Velasquez and her husband saw a stray dog, thankfully they offered her some food every day for about six months, and they didn’t know what else they should do to help her. But after watching one of the Hope for Paws videos on YouTube, they called them to help the stray dog. They told Hope for Paws about a stray dog, and they added that they can detect the dog’s location by checking Google street view. They started to search for her using google maps street view and they found her. It was time for the volunteers to rush and bring her in. When they arrived, they saw her but they were totally surprised when someone told them that this dog has been waiting here for about 10 years! It’s a long period of time.
The volunteer started to feed her the delicious cheese burger, at first she ate it but gradually she lost interest and left to a parking, so the man started to seal the way out around the park. She tried her best to escape, but she hide after she figured out that there was no place to go, the volunteer calmed her down and put the lucky leash around her neck.
He took the dog to the vet immediately to find that she had some tumors and some broken teeth, they bathed her and she shaved, after few days they performed a surgery on the dog to remove those tumors.
Thankfully now she is healthy and living in a home where she finally feels comfortable and loved.
