It’s heartwarming to hear that some people are willing to make effort to save an animal that is in need, they give those hopeless animals a second chance in life. Because of these rescues, many lives are saved. It proves to us that all dogs just need a bit of kindness in order to be able to reach their full potential. But of course this transformation process is the most critical phase, as stray animals usually have a number of physical conditions that require extensive medical attention.
But thankfully, no matter how severe the cases are, some people aren’t willing to give up! It all started when this little puppy was found in Manhattan in April 2014 by the Animal Care Center in New York. The puppy, no more than 8 weeks, suffered from mange, starvation, and was on the brink of death. Quickly, they contacted Second Chance Rescue, which is an organization specialized with severe cases. SCR volunteer Denise Diaz raced through traffic in order to be able to get the sick puppy to the emergency center. And as soon as they arrived, the extensive treatment program for the puppy, who they named Peach, begun.
As her medication began, Peach went into foster with an SCR volunteer named Granny, who provided Peach with the love and care she needed in order to get back on her feet.
Sadly, even though she wanted to, Granny couldn’t keep Peach due to logistical problems. However, Peach quickly found a forever home with a kindhearted man named Eddie and many dog siblings!
It has now been a year since Peach was rescued, and she couldn’t be happier.
