If you’re a dog owner, then you just know how much of a blessing having a dog in your house is. Dogs are incredibly kind and compassionate. They have more than once proven how intelligent they are and how quickly they can learn and acquire new skills and habits. So it’s fair to say that dogs are way, way more than just pets. They are lifetime companions, and always the best friends you could ask for in those times of trouble.
And for all the things they give to us, they deserve all of our love and care. Of course, owning a dog is a huge responsibility, so we always need to be on the lookout for signs of trouble, and do our best to take care of them.
This is why this video you’re about to see is very important. In this video, Dr. Adrianne Mulligan, who is a vet at Camp Verde veterinary clinic in Arizona, sheds the light on some important signs of health problems that we might see in our dogs and things that we should always be on the look out for, and also tips to check on our dogs’ health.
First she talks about the most reliable ways to measure how healthy your dog is. She points out that the degree of the dryness of the nose is known to be an indicator of health but according to experts it’s not true, because it changes according to outside humidity.
Heart rate, temperature, and respiration rate are important indicators. Also, the color of the gums is a good indicator, as when it gets pale or too dark, it might mean something is wrong.
Also, it is important to know how to measure your dog’s pulse and to take their temperature.
