We are always getting excited about these wildlife stories, and this one is very special. At the Wildlife Conservation Society’s Bronx Zoo, they are having a special occasion. It’s the first time in more than 13 years; a baby gelada is out to life.
If you don’t know what Gelada is, it’s a species of old world monkeys that was found in Ethiopian Highlands, sometimes it called Gelada baboon or the bleeding – heart baboon because of that red patch on their chest.
The photos below are for that new born baby, and it’s adorably cute!
1-Welcome to the new member of the family.
2-The cute baboon is playing around and interacting with the adults.
3-He loves to learn some new skills, especially those needed to jump on trees.
4-The Gelda baby will weigh about 65 pounds when he is all grown up.
5-That’s why now he enjoys riding on his mother’s back.
The baby Gelda will amaze you by his cuteness, he runs and bounces, and he enjoys back rides. Well, he knows that each day he becomes more and more heavy, this thing won’t last forever so why not enjoy it to the max?!
Wildlife Conservation Society is trying their best to save the wildlife and also the wild places all over the world, they reach their goals by conversation action and science, education which helps people to raise their value of nature, and let them know their responsibilities about the wildlife. Now you can help the Wildlife Conservation Society reach their goals and save the wildlife creatures by visiting www.wcs.org where you can read more and also donate to help those rare species in need like the Gelada baboon.
