Fishing trips are always fun and wonderful, they have lots of unbelievable stories inside that deep blue sparkly water, and this is one of them.
Mr. Tom Satre, he was out with a group on his fishing vessel with 62 foot, and suddenly he had found a four juvenile black-tailed deers, swimming towards the boat they are on directly. It’s almost impossible to see this scene in the middle of the sea, and for their bad luck, it was icy yet they are swimming around searching for someone to save their life. They were seeing that boat, that fisherman, they felt hopeful that they maybe get saved.
When they reached the boat, they started to make circles around it and turn around, looking directly to the fisherman, and he went to open up the back gate and helped them.
“In all my years fishing, I’ve never seen anything quite like it” Mr. Tom said, he then took the rescued deer on the back of the boat, and once they reached Taku Harbour, and the moment came to let them go, one of them stood at the dock and looked to the fisherman as if he is saying “thank you for saving my life.” The rest followed the deer, the smallest one needed some special help before she left, the fisherman’s family helped her, and actually they don’t know how much they had been in the water. Or they don’t know if there were others who couldn’t survive.
That experience was never a forgotten memory to the fisherman and his family even for the deer themselves, and we thank god that they were there in the sea at the right place and the right time just to save those deer’s life.
