A dog is always more than just a pet. When you’ve spent a significant amount of your life with a dog, they become family, and there’s no doubt that dogs also think of us as family. Dogs are very loyal to their owners and anyone who has ever been good to them, and they are often more than ready to give love and compassion to whoever needs them.
Not only that, but dogs are known to be very protective of their owners. We hear so many stories about how dogs were responsible for saving their owners’ lives in many ways.
This is why dogs are often the first choice as service and therapy dogs. This story shows what a brave and smart service dog did to save her blind owner.
It all started when a fire erupted in the home of a blind woman who kept a service dog named Yolanda. Yolanda is also trained as a diabetic alert dog, and luckily, she was equipped with an emergency phone that she was trained to use in cases of emergency.
When the fire erupted, her owner passed out, and Yolanda knew what she had to do. Immediately, she dialed 911 using the emergency device. Not only that, but she has also started to pull her owner out of the fire before the firefighters and emergency personnel arrived and saved Yolanda and her owner.
This is not the first time Yolanda does something heroic. Last year, her owner fell and was unconscious, and Yolanda was responsible for saving her again by calling 911.
Isn’t Yolanda just amazing? Her owner is very lucky to have such a dependable and smart dog.
