A dog is always more than just a pet. When you’ve spent a significant amount of your life with a dog, they become family, and there’s no doubt that dogs also think of us as family. Dogs are very loyal to their owners and anyone who has ever been good to them, and they are often more than ready to give love and compassion to whoever needs them.
Not only that, but dogs are known to be very protective of their owners. And contrary to popular belief, rescue dogs are no different than normal dogs. In fact, rescue dogs can be even more emotionally intelligent and loving.
This is why it’s always important to encourage prospective dog owners to adopt a rescued dog instead of buying a dog from the petshop, this way the shelters get more places for other rescue dogs, and that can save many lives of dogs who have nowhere to stay.
Stories like this one prove how special rescue dogs are.
When one lucky family decided to adopt this beautiful pit bull named Athena from Guardians of Rescue seven months ago, they didn’t expect the amazing influence Athena would have on their lives.
Athena met her 9 year old brother, Charlie, who is a Labrador that has epilepsy. Immediately, Charlie and Athena struck up an amazingly strong relationship, becoming best buddies in a matter of no time. But what’s more amazing is what happened after Athena arrived.
The family that adopted Athena say that Charlie used to have a seizure almost once every two weeks. However, to their amazement, after Athena arrived, Charlie had only one seizure in 7 months!
Because of her sweet and loving nature, Athena has affected her family’s life in the best way. Isn’t it amazing? Don’t forget to share this heartwarming story with your family and friends!
