640x

It’s estimated that every year, around 4 million dogs are abandoned every year, a rate of more than 10,000 per day. Sadly, not all people who abandon their pets leave them at shelters. Every day we hear lots of heartbreaking stories about animals which are abandoned and living on the streets, and as a result often subjected to really tough situations that leave their physical and psychological health at huge risk. Some cruel owners take it a step further by abandoning their dying dogs in remote areas. This spot in the woods of southeast Dallas in Texas is famous for being a boneyard for dying, dead, and unwanted pets.

This video report takes us on a disturbing walk through this area in which many unlucky pets met their cruel fate. The report, which contains many graphic images of deceased animals, follows as one kindhearted and brave 28 year old girl, Marina Tarashevska, walks through the piles of deceased dogs looking for a sign of life. Marina walks to that part of the woods everyday to see if there are any dogs she can save and also to try and identify the owners who dump their pets so they can meet their legal punishment. However, while the cameras were rolling, Marina found an abandoned and starving Rottweiler dog, who was on the verge of giving up. With tears in her eyes, Marina gave it her all in order to save the poor dog. Luckily, she was able to bring the dog to a vet and the dog, now named Hope, is on her way to full recovery.
