Because November is the month of senior dogs, it will be amazing to take it as a chance to talk about “The Old Friends’ Senior Dog Sanctuary”, that heavenly space in Mount Juliet in Tennessee; it’s a journey to discover the amazing side of senior dog.

The Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary started in April, 2012. It all started with more than 40 dogs,  the dogs that are in the Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary which is owned by Zina & Michael, are all dogs who are abandoned and rescued in their last years, but in this sanctuary, it was the time to change their life after all what they have faced in their lives. Zina & Michael tried to do their best in the Sanctuary, so they could help those dogs. We all know that senior dogs are the last to be adopted in shelters, and sometimes they don’t get adopted at all, which made it very painful to live their last years in shelters, with all they face from health problems sometimes, and that’s why they need a special place. That made Zina & Michael put a volunteer team in charge, trying to make a difference in the senior dogs’ lives.

The real question here is what really makes this place unique and different from any other shelter? The answer is the forever foster homes, which is covering the costs of the senior dog if it was welcomed in a home. And also, they remain a part of this amazing sanctuary, because Zina is keeping in touch with them.

It’s not an easy thing to do, but it’s a very noble thing to do for those senior dogs. A Facebook page was set to introduce the idea of the sanctuary and also help people to appreciate and help  senior dogs, because they deserve to live their last years relaxed and enjoying their lives. And the sanctuary is offering for them a relaxing environment, amazing outdoor space, and lots of supplies to make them feel more joyful. It’s heavenly, isn’t it?
