According to Dr. Kim Smyth, staff veterinarian at Petplan, exercises are essential to keep your dog’s weight off and also stimulate his mind; moreover, keeping up a fitness routine for your pet helps it expel the energy in a healthy way.
It is recommended that you and your canine friend have an activity which you both enjoy. Put it into your daily routine. If you do not have the time to do this, you can mix up your routine, walk around the block, play hide and seek in the house, or toss the ball in your backyard. One added value is that you will tend to lose weight yourself; it is a win-win situation!
