No one can deny that being a dog owner means knowing how much of a blessing having a dog in your house is. Dogs are incredibly kind and compassionate. No matter what their breed or age is, they have more than once proven how intelligent they are and how quickly they can learn and acquire new skills and habits. So it’s fair to say that dogs are way, way more than just pets.
That is why the difference that having a dog in your life makes is undeniably huge. You just know that whatever the situation is, your dog will always find a way to protect you and make sure nothing bad happens to you, even if it means sacrificing his own life.
This is why dogs are often used as service dogs for people who have certain diseases. So, when Steven, a 5 year old boy, was diagnosed with Autism, his parent decided that Steven needed a companion with all those good traits that a dog has. So, they got in contact with Ry-Con Service Dogs, which is an organization that helps train service dogs for people from various ages with special needs.
Then, Steven met Aragorn, which is a Briard breed dog. Aragorn is especially trained to perform a set of protective behaviors for the child as he plays. In this video you will see him using a “technique” called curbing, which is done when the kid starts to approach a dangerous situation, so the dog positions himself in front of the child to drive him out of harm’s way.
The Briard breed is generally good with children and have a stable temperament, therefore they are always the best choice as service dogs for children with disabilities.
This proves that the world is a better place with dogs. Share this video with your family and friends.
